March is National Nutrition month!
Let’s talk about some foods that will help you stay healthy and keep you focused on your weight loss journey!
Going into a grocery store can be overwhelming, so many choices! I love this time of year as we approach the warmer weather because we will be able to take advantage of many local Farmers Markets. There are endless benefits of eating healthy local fruits and vegetables.
It’s no secret that fruits and vegetables are good for you because each fruit or vegetable has its own set of nutrients. Some of the most essential nutrients that are important for your health are Iron, Calcium, Fiber, Folate, Magnesium, Potassium and Antioxidants.
Some of my favorite choices are.
Apples - they help aid the digestion system and can help promote weight loss and are good for heart health.
Bananas – they are loaded with vitamins and minerals. They also aid in digestion and helps reduce bad cholesterol levels.
Grapes- they help regulate blood pressure and are beneficial if you have any constipation issues.
Pomegranates – they help strengthen your immune system and is great if you have arthritis.
Avocado – my absolute favorite…..they help promote a healthy heart, good for your eyes and heart.
Oranges – they can help prevent constipation, good for brain health and help fight viral infections.
Pineapple – Great for your bones and helps improve your digestive system.
Cherries – another favorite of mine. Cherries help prevent gout and can help reduce body pain. And can even help shed excess body fat especially belly fat.
Peaches – a favorite summer fruit helps detoxify your body and promotes cellular health along with boosting your immune system.
Spinach – Helps in improving your brain functioning, strengthens muscles and promotes a healthy metabolism.
Carrots – Boosts your cardiovascular health & good for your eyes and teeth.
Beans – They are loaded with protein and antioxidants that are good for your gut health and protects the liver.
Cauliflower – so tasty and a great choice of nutrients to help with the balance of hormones.
Beets – helps control blood pressure and fights inflammation & can even boost your energy levels.
Brussel Sprouts- a tasty vegetable that I love roasted, they are good for your bones and can even help heal injuries.
Turnip – they are a starchy root vegetable that have many health benefits. They are good for the lungs & helps prevent atherosclerosis and helps improve blood circulation.
Have some fun with your food and incorporate as many of these tasty fruits and vegetables into your diet!
